Toyota Readout ("we", "us") runs toyotacheckenginelight.com. This page sets out what gets logged when you read a guide, what we do with it, and the controls you have. The short version: we keep collection to a minimum.

Information we collect

Usage data: which pages get opened, the referring site, a rough region, and the device and browser in use — counted in aggregate by our own self-hosted, cookie-free analytics, never tied to you by name.
Contact details: nothing beyond the email address you decide to write to us from.

We never ask for sensitive personal details, never store them, and never sell what little we do collect. The site sets no cookies — the Cookie Policy has the two-paragraph version.

Advertising

There are no third-party ads on this site today. If that changes, this policy and the Cookie Policy get revised first — including whatever cookies or identifiers an ad partner would bring along.

Affiliate links

As an Amazon Associate, Toyota Readout earns from qualifying purchases. A few links here are affiliate links — buy through one and we may make a small commission, with nothing added to your price and nothing changed about which parts we recommend.

Analytics

We run our own analytics instance (self-hosted Matomo) rather than handing your visit to a third party. It sets no cookies, respects your browser's Do Not Track flag, anonymizes IP addresses, and reports in aggregate — which readouts get used, never who used them.

What you can control

Your browser can block or clear cookies whenever you want. Depending on where you live — GDPR, CCPA and the like — you may also be able to see, correct, or delete any personal data we hold, or opt out of its sale (there's no sale to opt out of, but the right stands). Children

This site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
