Privacy Policy

Toyota Readout ("we", "us") runs toyotacheckenginelight.com. This page sets out what gets logged when you read a guide, what we do with it, and the controls you have. The short version: we keep collection to a minimum.
Information we collect
- Usage data: which pages get opened, the referring site, a rough region, and the device and browser in use — counted in aggregate by our own self-hosted, cookie-free analytics, never tied to you by name.
- Contact details: nothing beyond the email address you decide to write to us from.
We never ask for sensitive personal details and never store them. Nobody buys personal information from us, and there's no reader database or profile drawer on this bench to sell from anyway. Nothing we built sets a cookie. The ad units are wired on a separate circuit, covered below and in the Cookie Policy.
Advertising
Some of the panels on this dashboard are ads, and Google AdSense supplies them. Google, along with its partners, may rely on cookies or similar identifiers to place those ads and take readings on how they perform. Where local law lets it, the ads you get can be picked from your earlier visits here and on other sites.
Google keeps its own manual on what it does with information from sites that run its services. The ad personalization controls sit in My Ad Center. Readers connecting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland get a consent message from Google before any personalized ads switch on, and can consent, not consent, or manage the options from there.

As an Amazon Associate, Toyota Readout earns from qualifying purchases. A few links here are affiliate links — buy through one and we may make a small commission, with nothing added to your price and nothing changed about which parts we recommend.
Analytics
We run our own analytics instance (self-hosted Matomo) rather than handing your visit to a third party. It sets no cookies, respects your browser's Do Not Track flag, anonymizes IP addresses, and reports in aggregate — which readouts get used, never who used them.
What you can control
Your browser can block or clear cookies whenever you want. Depending on where you live — GDPR, CCPA and the like — you may also be able to see, correct, or delete any personal data we hold. One reading worth noting: under some US state privacy laws, California's among them, Google's advertising cookies may still register as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. Ad personalization itself has an off switch at myadcenter.google.com. Drop us a line below to make a request.
Children
This site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
